Chötrul Düchen: Buddha Shakyamuni Practice, Bodhisattva Vows, Aspiration Prayers

Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters,

This Saturday, February 24 is Chötrul Düchen, the 15th day (full moon) of the first Tibetan month known as the “Great Celebration of Miraculous Manifestations.” This day commemorates the Buddha’s display of miracles in order to increase devotion and merit in his disciples and subdue heretics, and is one of the four main holidays of the year commemorating the life and activities of Buddha Shakyamuni. It is considered so auspicious that any merit accumulated on this day is said to multiply many millions of times.

On this special occasion, beginning at 6:00 PM (EST), Lamas will lead us in practices and prayers, including:

Bodhisattva Vows
Practice of Buddha Skakyamuni (Treasury of Blessings)
King of Aspiration Prayers (Sangchö Mönlam)
