Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center is excited to announce our annual recitation of the Precious Kagyur, the collection of the 84,000 teachings of our teacher, Buddha Sakyamuni, which till take place on Thanksgiving weekend, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, November 25, 26, and 27 at the Center. Buddha himself said: “Five hundred years from now during the degenerating time, I will appear in the form of syllables. Take these words as equal to me and honor them.” He has also said in the sutras that in the future his written teachings will also be the teacher of beings.
The recitation of the Kangyur invokes the power of the truth and the blessings of all the Buddhas of all times in the ten directions. The vibration of the sound of the infallible, sacred words of the Buddha brings his teachings alive, healing the beings and the world of negative karma and increasing their positive karma and well being. As such, the blessings that come from the benediction of reciting the Kangyur are so unfathomable that even the Buddhas can go on for ages explaining its benefits.
We wish that this effort will bring peace and equality in our world, mitigate the escalating energy of the degenerating time, and stop or ensure the quick end of the present and future pandemics. May all those who lost their lives to this pandemic have a better rebirth, and may all animals whose lives are taken for ceremonies and festivals, including the millions of turkeys, be born in higher realms and gradually liberate from the suffering of samsara.
We request all those who come to join the event be fully vaccinated and follow the guidelines of the pandemic for the safety of our lamas and sangha. All sessions will also be live streamed on our Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center NYC Facebook page
For those who cannot read Tibetan, no worries! You can participate just as fully by reciting the sutras in English, which are available at https://84000.co.
