First Guru Rinpoche Day of the New Year – Statue Consecration, Lama Chopa, Tsok Offering
We want to wish everyone Losar Tashi Delek. As most of us know, the first month of the Tibetan lunar year is considered very auspicious, when merit is multiplied many millions of times. This is especially true during the first fifteen days of the month leading up to the full moon, Chotrul Düchen (Great Day of Miraculous Manifestations), when Buddha Shakyamuni performed miracles for fifteen days to demonstrate the truth of the Dharma to non-Buddhists and increase faith and devotion in his disciples.
Therefor, this coming Saturday’s Guru Rinpoche Day (Tsechu) is very auspicious—on this day we will perform a Rigdzin Dupa tsok offering and Lama Chopa in observance of the Mahaparinirvana of H.H. Dodrupchen Rinpoche and H.H. Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche, as well as a consecration ceremony (Rabné) for the new statues of Dharma King Trisong Detsen, Khenchen Shantarakshita, and Dakinis Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava recently installed in the temple’s shrine. All are warmly welcome to attend, either in person or on Zoom or Facebook.
