Losar Celebration at Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center

We wish you all a Happy Losar! Please come and join us in celebrating our first Tibetan New Year in our new center. To welcome in the new year and clear obstacles of the coming year, we will do Gutor.

Traditionally Gutor takes place during the last days of the year, and concludes on the 29th day of the 12th month of the Tibetan calendar. In the monasteries, prayers are done for three to seven days to reverse all obstacles of the coming year.

Therefor on February 22, we will do the Vajrakilaya reversal ritual. You may bring a small piece of cloth from your old clothing to throw away with the reversal torma as a symbol of discarding your bad luck. Then we will end the ritual with the famous “Guthuk,” the 29th day broth. Please come and join us to find out what it is all about!

Then on February 24, Losar, the temple will be open all day. In the morning from 9am – 10am, we will do prayers including Paying Homage and Offering To The Sixteen Elders and other prayers of auspiciousness, and everyone is welcome to visit throughout the day as your schedule allows.
