Tsok Offering on Anniversary of The Great Longchenpa

Dear Sangha,

We are very happy to announce the observation of the Anniversary of The Dharma King, The Omniscient Longchen Rabjam (1308 – 1364). The Tantra of Ati Kodpa Chenpo states:

On the month and the day of the parinirvana,
Calculating it carefully without any mistake
If one observes the anniversary with various offerings
They will perfectly complete the two accumulations.

Likewise, both the tantras of the old and new translations state the importance and benefits of observing the anniversary of the master’s parinirvana.

We will be observing the 660th Anniversary of Longchenpa, who is one of the Three Great Omniscient Masters of Tibet. He was the emanation of none other than the Primordial Buddha Kuntuzangpo, who manifested as a master in these degenerating times, especially to propagate the Dzogchen teachings.

More About Longchenpa
Longchen Rabjam was an extraordinary being in his depth of knowledge and realization. He composed hundreds and hundreds of works elucidating the nine yanas and the profound meaning of the Great Perfection, the most famous of which are the The Seven Treasures and Three Trilogies. To aid practitioners, Longchenpa compiled the Nyingtik Yabshi, a thirteen volume collection of sadhanas and practice instructions based on the Heart Essence (Nyingtik) teachings transmitted by Guru Rinpoche and Vimalamitra. Many of his writings were transmitted directly to him by Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tsogyal during states of pure meditative clarity.
